The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are expected to be without wide receiver Chris Godwin for Sunday's home game against the Los Angeles Chargers as he recovers from a hamstring injury.

Head coach Bruce Arians indicated at his Monday press conference that Godwin, who required an MRI exam to confirm the severity of the strained muscle, could miss time. ESPN reported Wednesday that Godwin is unlikely to play in Week 4.

The Bucs (2-1) follow that with a road game against the Chicago Bears the following Thursday and Godwin's status for that game could also be in doubt due to the short turnaround.

The Bucs host the Green Bay Packers in Week 6.

Godwin left the Week 3 win over the Denver Broncos and was immediately ruled out for the rest of the game.

Due to a concussion, Godwin did not play Week 2. He had five receptions for 64 yards and a touchdown before exiting Sunday's win at Denver.

Godwin, 24, has a team-leading 11 catches this season, with 143 receiving yards and a touchdown. He's coming off a breakout season that saw him haul in 86 passes for 1,333 yards and nine touchdowns.
