The Seahawks added to their depth at quarterback behind starter Russell Wilson, signing former Rams and Vikings backup Sean Mannion on Sunday.

Quarterback Danny Etling was waived to make room on the 90-man roster.

Mannion, 29, was a third-round pick of the then St. Louis Rams in 2015, spent his first four seasons with the Rams, including two with current Seahawks offensive coordinator Shane Waldron on L.A.'s coaching staff. Mannion spent the past two seasons in Minnesota.

Mannion has appeared in 13 games over a six-year career, starting two, and has completed 60.8 percent of his passes with no touchdowns and three interceptions.

Etling, who was a seventh-round pick by the Patriots in 2018, spent last season on Seattle's practice squad.

With Mannion replacing Etling, the Seahawks still have four quarterbacks on their roster: Wilson, Geno Smith, who has held the No. 2 job behind Wilson the past two seasons, and Alex McGough, a 2018 seventh-round pick of the Seahawks who after stints in Jacksonville and Houston, returned to Seattle as a member of the practice squad late last season.
