PHNOM PENH, Sept. 29 (Xinhua) -- Cambodia on Thursday set a new monthly minimum wage for the country's garment, footwear and travel goods industry at 204 U.S. dollars for 2024, up from the current 200 dollars, Labor and Vocational Training Minister Heng Sour announced.

The announcement came after the National Council for Minimum Wage voted on a minimum wage of 202 dollars for the next year, which was then up an additional two dollars by the government.

Besides the monthly minimum wage, the workers will also receive other monthly fringe benefits, including an extra 10 dollars per month for the regular attendance and an extra seven dollars per month for transportation and rent, the minister said.
